With a name like Wild West, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out the theme of this slot. Packed full of all the best things about the Wild West genre, from cowboys to gun fights and bank robberies, this slot has it all!

Graphics & Soundtrack

This slot is set far out in the West of America on a desert plain, complete with cacti and bright blue skies. The reels themselves feature all sorts of Wild West symbols, covering just about any aspect of this genre you can think of.

The price of this adventure-filled slot is that the game, in our opinion, does look a little cluttered, and it can be difficult to tell the higher valued symbols apart from the scatters, wilds, and bonus symbols that you really want to be keeping an eye out for! But this doesn’t necessarily detract from the fun.

The soundtrack is a traditional Western tune that plays while the reels are spinning. It stops when the reels stop, so you can focus on your winning paylines, and the higher valued and special symbols each come with their own little sound effect.

How to Play

As with most R Franco Slots, the gameplay in Wild West isn’t too complicated once you’ve figured out which symbols are which. To make a winning combination, simply line up 3 or more matching symbols along one of the 25 paylines, starting at the far left reel. The wilds appear in reels 2, 3, and 4 and can substitute for any symbol other than the scatter or bonus, to help you achieve bigger winning combinations, and they will even expand to cover full reels when they’re activated.

You can check the paytable and rules of the game by clicking the ‘i’ to the left of the reels. Once you’re happy you understand the rules of the game, adjust your bet by clicking on the pile of coins to the bottom right-hand side of the screen or hit the ‘Max’ button to the right of them. The button on the far-right of the controls is your ‘Play’ button and it will allow you to spin the reels once, or you can select automatic spins by clicking on the small button to the left of ‘Play’. You can select between 10 and 100 automatic spins.

Bet Sizes & Maximum Win

Bets can be placed between 0.01 up to 0.05 per payline, making the total bet range between 0.25 and 1.25, which is a pretty small bet range. However, it does allow for longer play, even on a restrictive bankroll.

The highest paying base symbol is the sheriff himself, offering rewards of up to 500 credits for 5 of his likeness along a payroll. The wild women have the potential to double or triple your rewards, so this could be a lucrative combination. The scatters offer set prizes up to 62.50.

Expanding Wilds

During the base game, you’ll find 3 wild women in the middle reels. When they have the chance to help with a winning combination, these symbols will expand to fill an entire reel. They can multiply your winnings by 2x or 3x.

Scatters

Find 3 or more scatter symbols anywhere on a single spin to win a set scatter cash prize.

Free Spins

Find 3 or more of the waggon symbols to enter the free games bonus feature. You’ll be given the chance to choose between 3 vaults to ‘rob’, which will dictate how many free spins you’ve triggered, from 10 to 20. The free spins can be retriggered in-feature up to 300 times and all wins are awarded a 2x multiplier.

Bonus Game

Find ‘gun’ symbols on reels 1 and 5 during your free spins to enter the Wild West bonus game. Here, you’ll be given 3 to 5 chances to shoot your choice of illuminated objects and receive the prizes they’re hiding. You can earn up to 7,500x your bet per line in the bonus game, so there’s plenty of winning potential here!

Double or Nothing

With every winning combination, you’ll have the opportunity to gamble your winnings in the Double or Nothing game. Here, you’ll need to select 1 card from the 4 face-down that hopefully matches the colour of the card in the middle to double your winnings.

R. Franko has announced Wild West as a medium volatility slot with an RTP of 95%. This usually means that lower and medium valued wins are fairly frequent, although higher rewards can be harder to trigger. When we played, we found this to be true, as we hit numerous winning combinations, but triggering the free spins or bonus game was much harder!

Overall, we found Wild West to be a really enjoyable slot with plenty of bonus features and games to keep players interested. Although the game looked a little cluttered to our eyes at first glance, once you’ve spun the reels a few times and got your head around the symbols, there are loads of fun and lucrative rewards to be had playing this slot!
