Overall Review

Slots from Microgaming and Just For the Win always look impressive, but they rarely provide the kind of entertaining gaming experience you’d expect upon first glance, like Tiki Vikings and Ruby Casino Queen and, sadly this is the case with Anderthals. The game looks fantastic with great character designs and vibrant graphics, but the gameplay falls a little bit short.

The issue with the slot is that the game seems to be loaded with bonus features – that are really difficult to trigger. Even though it only takes two feature symbols to trigger the modifiers, you’re waiting quite a while before that ever happens (we waited over 50 spins before we were able to trigger the any of the modifiers). That being said, it is a high volatility game – so, it is to be expected that big wins will come around rarely.

Once we did land a modifier – nothing happened! With a Re-spin and a 3x Wild, you might expect there to be some kind of payoff, but there was nothing to be gained. If the modifiers were slightly reworked (for example, adding wilds to the reels), then Anderthals would be a very interesting slot .
