UFOs too cute to fear

Red Tiger has decided to go for a cutesy, whimsical take on the theme of UFOs and outer space in this choice of slots. It looks overly appealing to children, which is not suitable for a slots game, but it does make a change from some of the more gritty themes out there amongst games at online casinos.

Design and animations

The symbols are square tile blocks with a variety of alien faces for the high-paying symbols and the standard playing cards for the low-paying. Wins involve symbols disappearing and new tiles falling, with any near the centre powering up a wheel around the central Blobster character that makes garbled noises throughout the gameplay and fires the power-ups when these are unlocked. It is still too childlike, but the character is endearing.

Soundtrack and sound effects

There is a very, very quiet synth-based soundtrack playing in the background only when spins are taking place, which doesn’t add much to the atmosphere or theme. The symbols disappear with satisfying swishing and sparkling sounds that suit the aesthetic, but there is nothing standout here.

A central 3x3 tile is blocked off by the UFO character and any winning clusters formed adjacent to this power up the lights around the character. When all these are lit, the next bonus feature in the sequence is made available for the subsequent spin.

Upgrader

The first bonus will upgrade low-paying symbols to high-paying ones on the reels for the turn it is activated, boosting your payout potential.

Frenzy

The second bonus will add additional wilds to the reels, which substitute for other winning symbols and help to form combinations.
