Crazy Time overview

This is a live dealer game with a TV game show setting and a circus aesthetic. Released in 2020, Crazy Time is the follow-up to Evolution’s Dream Catcher, one of the most popular game show-themed live dealer games in the world. Played with a very similar bonus wheel format, Crazy Time has a higher payout potential and a total of four bonus games. The main game is the bonus wheel, which has 54 segments showing four numbers (1, 2, 5, and 10) and four bonus games. Each spin of the wheel represents one betting round unless the spin results in a bonus game. The bonus games take place on different virtual screens, apart from the Crazy Time bonus game, which is played on a new wheel.

How to play Crazy Time

Crazy Time is a live dealer game. Players join the game with any number of other online players. When the dealer tells you it is time to bet, lay your bets. You can make up to eight wagers for each spin from a minimum of 10p per number/bonus that you choose. First, pick the wager amount from the chips displayed at the bottom of the screen and lay it on the number/s or bonus/es you want to bet on. The chat function allows you to send messages to the dealer and other players.

Special features

This game has a multiplier bonus, which is in play in the base game and applies to all players. This live dealer game also has four bonus games, all of which are triggered when the wheel lands on one of the corresponding segments and are played on a different screen or wheel. Only players who placed a bet on the corresponding game will be included in the bonus.

Multiplier bonus

With each wheel spin, a mini reel at the top will also spin and land on a combination of segment number/bonus game and a multiplier. If the wheel lands at this number or bonus game segment, the multiplier will be applied to any wins, provided you laid a wager on this number/bonus game.

Coin flip

In this simple game, a coin is flipped to show either the red or blue side, each of which displays a different multiplier. Players who have qualified to enter the bonus game will win whichever multiplier is flipped.

Cash hunt

If the cash hunt bonus is triggered, it plays out on a new virtual screen. The screen contains a 9x12 table filled with multipliers worth up to 1,500x. These are hidden and replaced with symbols, which are then switched up. Players choose a single symbol from the 108 on the screen. The multiplier is your personal win amount based on your current bet.

Crazy Time bonus

The Crazy Time bonus round plays on a new wheel with 64 segments, bigger multipliers, and double and triple segments. If the flapper lands on a double or triple, the multipliers for the next spin are doubled or tripled.

Pachinko

If this bonus game is triggered, it will take place on a new giant screen. The game resembles a plinko game with 16 drops under a series of pegs. At the start, a number of multipliers are randomly chosen and placed in some of the 16 drops. The host will drop the ball down, which will find its way through the pegs into one of the drops; if it is a multiplier, this multiplier will be awarded. The win amount is based on your current bet.

Betting options

You can make a wager of 10p on between one and eight outcomes. This means you can make up to eight bets on each spin. When you make a wager, you are betting on the wheel stopping on the corresponding segment.

Betting on numbers

You can bet on numbers 1, 2, 5, or 10, which make up most of the segments on the wheel. Players have the choice to bet on one, two, three, or all four of these numbers, and you can bet a different amount on each number on which you choose to bet. The higher the number, the fewer segments there are for it and the bigger the return. The smaller the number, the greater the number of segments and the lower the return.

Betting on bonuses

You can also bet on landing on one or more of the bonus game segments. These are coin flip, cash hunt, pachinko, and the Crazy Times bonus. If you lay a bet on one of these, it does not pay out a win multiplier if the wheel stops here; however, if the wheel stops on a bonus game segments for which you have laid a bet, you will be entered into the bonus game along with any other players who also laid a bet on the bonus game. Any wins in the bonus game will be based on the triggering wager. If you have not placed a bet on the bonus game, you will not be eligible to play it if the wheel stops there.

Payouts

The win for each number is as follows:

  • Number 1 (21 x segments) = 1x

  • Number 2 (13 x segments) = 2x

  • Number 5 (7 x segments) = 5x

  • Number 10 (4 x segments) = 10x

The maximum wins in the bonus games are as follows:

  • Coin flip bonus game (4 x segments) = up to 5,000x

  • Cash hunt bonus game (2 x segments) = up to 10,000x

  • Pachinko bonus game (2 x segments) = up to 10,000x

  • Crazy Time bonus game (1 x segment) = up to 20,000x

Optimal strategy

Crazy Time is a game of chance, so there is no such thing as a winning strategy for this game; however, you can reduce your risk in Crazy Time by spreading your bets. This means making small bets on more of the numbers and bonuses rather than making a large bet on just one number or bonus. This gives you a greater chance of landing a win for the same outlay; however, this approach does mean you will get smaller-sized wins. Betting on the numbers that appear more frequently, such as 1 and 2, will result in smaller but more frequent wins than betting on the higher numbers, 5 and 10. Remember that you can only enter a bonus game if you have made a bet on it, and betting on all the bonus games for every spin will increase your overall spend.

Remember that responsible gaming is always a good approach when it comes to live casino games. This might include restricting yourself to making small bets, limiting your playing time, setting deposit limits, or using the timeout or self-exclusion functions. These options are available for all Evolution Gaming casino games, including Crazy Time.
