There are a number of bonus features in this game, which add considerable interest. Four of these involve mermaids of different colours, which are referred to as the mermaid scatters, and the other main one is the free spins feature.

Mermaid scatters

There are four mermaid scatters. Each is a different colour and triggers a different bonus feature if landed during the base game:

• If a wild lands with the yellow mermaid, it will expand to fill the reel. 
• If the red mermaid scatter lands, it removes all the low-paying symbols from the reels.
• If the green mermaid scatter lands, it turns the spin into an avalanche spin.
• If the blue mermaid lands, a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x or 25x is awarded. During the free spins bonus feature, the multiplier is randomly assigned on each spin. 
• Landing multiple mermaid scatters activates one respin with all features activated. Landing a second mermaid during the respin results in another respin with both mermaid features. Finally, if more than one mermaid scatter lands on reel five, all the features are activated simultaneously.

Free spins 

Landing three or more free spins scatters or two free spins scatters and one mermaid scatter in the base game triggers this bonus feature. Ten free spins are awarded and any mermaids that form part of the activating spin will activate their feature for the entirety of the free spins feature. If a mermaid feature is activated during this bonus round, all instances of this symbol are turned into the +1 symbol on the reels for the remaining free spins.
