Layout

Unlike the majority of slots games available today, Merlin's Magic Respins is made up of five reels with four rows each, laid out in a 5x4 configuration. There are 50 paylines which are always in play.

A generous range of prizes are awarded to lucky players for finding instances of three, four and five-of-a-kind adjacent matching symbols from left to right on a payline.

In total there are 11 symbols, nine of which are regular sorts which just award prizes for matches, with the remaining two being special types that award wild, free spins, respin and scatter functionality.

Prize Table

First up on the prize table is the chalice or goblet, the most valuable regular symbol in the game. Finding five of these will award players with a maximum possible prize of 500. Next up is the book of spells, which is worth a slightly smaller top prize of 300 coins.

Way down at the bottom of the table is the lowly '10' symbol, which is only worth a maximum of 50 at best. Don't despair though, as thanks to numerous winning opportunities and innovative game features, even these smaller amounts can soon add up to something much bigger with perseverance, continued play and just a little bit of luck.

Bonus Symbols

First up is the wild, represented here by a very confused looking Merlin. The wild is a substitute, which means that it can be used in place of any other symbol except for the scatter as part of a winning combination on an active payline. This has multiple configurations depending on the context.

In the normal game, Merlin will appear on reels two, three and four only, whereas in the wild respins round he will appear on all reels. Merlin can appear in either single or stacked variants for even more winning opportunities. Additionally, this symbol also awards large prizes for matches of multiples, up to a massive maximum of 1,000.

The second special symbol is the scatter cauldron, which appears on reels two to four only. This awards nominal prizes for matches, though its true function is to unlock the game's free spins round. Finding three in any configuration, that is to say regardless of paylines, will award the player with seven free spins.

Respins

Wild respins is a feature unique to this game, activated by enabling the superbet meter to the right of the main game. Activating the superbet function (an additional wager) from levels one to five will award players with a corresponding number of respins.

During respins Merlin wilds can appear on all reels, including stacked Merlins. Any full stack that appears on the reels will award additional respins as well as being held for the remaining respins.
