In Safari River, the reels are set on the African plains with luscious grasses and mountains lurking in the background against blue but cloudy skies. The playing card symbols have a cartoon-like feel and have been given a cursory makeover in what we presume is an attempt to fit in with the African theme, The picture symbols, which are the higher payers in the game, don’t have the same cartoonish feel and, thankfully, they do display more attention to detail than the reels and the playing cards. Having said this, there does feel to be a lack of cohesion between different elements of this slot. It almost feels like the detailed picture symbols and the backdrop don’t match with the other elements on the reels and that the two belong in different games.

The theoretical return to player ratio of this game is just 93.99 per cent. This is incredibly low given that the average for this kind of game is normally nearer to the 96 per cent mark. The variance of this slot does not seem to have been published, but it played like quite a low-volatility game when we gave it a try.
