1 Once the game launches in your browser, take the time to familiarise yourself with the rules and paytable.

2 Set your bet amount by tapping on the settings button underneath the reels. Or use the buttons either side of the Total Bet window to adjust your amount. Remember, wins are paid according to your bet per line, not your Total Bet. The scatter symbol is the only exception to the rule.

3 The Spin button will start your game and end it automatically. Pressing Spin for a second time will end the spin prematurely, but it won’t influence the outcome of that spin.

4 Autoplay lets you select up to 100 automatic spins, but you can deactivate it at any time by hitting the button for a second time.

The wild symbol only appears on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5, so it can’t trigger any winning combinations on its own. But by standing in for all the other symbols, apart from the scatter, it can still help to generate some very welcome cash prizes. However, it only appears in the base game

There are two different types of scatter symbol in South of the Border. The sun and moon symbol with a Mexican moustache is the Scatter Pays symbol, awarding up to 100x your total stake for landing five on the reels. But there are also sunflower symbols, some of which have cash prizes attached. The higher your stake per spin, the greater the amount of these cash rewards.

You’ll need to land at least five sunflower scatters to trigger the game’s main feature. This will activate the Free Spins round, in which extra sunflowers are added to the reels. They come with overlays, giving cash payouts, multipliers and access to the Mini, Minor and Major Jackpot prizes.
