Introduction

Star Wild Blaster is a fruit-themed slot from Stakelogic. It takes its place alongside the other Blaster game in the growing number of Stakelogic online slots. Inevitably it will be compared with NetEnt’s popular Starburst slot, which was released way back in 2012. Since then countless free play slots have been developed, including many which tread similar ground, and Stakelogic’s decision to return to tradition suggests they still see a receptive retro market.

Star Wild Blaster uses a five-reel, three-row grid with 10 paylines. The bet size ranges from 0.10 to 20. There are eight symbols: Lucky Sevens, Stars, Bars, Plum, Orange, Lemon, Cherries and Diamond. The wild is a gold star.

Theme, Graphics and Soundtrack

Star Wild Blaster is a simple old-fashioned slot game. It looks similar to most others of its type. Rather than being set in a casino, it stands against a purely abstract backdrop. The symbols are crisp and clear but unremarkable, while the animation is very slight. The soundtrack seems like a standard piece of library music trying to sound exciting but really not adding anything very much. All in all, it seems a little under-designed.

According to the makers, Star Wild Blaster has an RTP of 95.91 per cent, which is about average. Apparently in some jurisdictions and on some sites this can be lower. The variance is medium.

How to Play Star Wild Blaster

1. Use the + and - buttons to customize the bet settings. You can also set the bet level from the settings button.
2. You can use the Spin button or the Space Bar when you want to start playing. Pressing either will also stop the reels.
3. Click Autoplay to call up the menu and select a number of spins from five to infinity. Start continuous play using your selected bet line. Here you may also set a loss limit and a single win limit. It also gives access to the turbo spin mode.
4. The running balance is displayed in the bottom left corner.
5. All wins pay left to right. Wins on different lines are added together. Only the highest win on each line is awarded.
6. Always play responsibly at a level where you feel comfortable and stop playing if you aren't enjoying it.

Star Wild Blaster Bonus Features

Wild Symbols

Wilds substitute for all symbols. The wild can appear on any position within reels 2, 3 and 4. Wilds expand on the reels. Any winning combination that includes a wild on the associated reel activates the Wild Multiplier feature.

Wild Multiplier Feature

After the wilds expand if any winning combination includes a wild, then the multiplier bonus is triggered for that reel. During the multiplier bonus a multiplier will be chosen at random for each reel and then applied to the wilds. Multipliers of 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x and 10x may be awarded on each reel. If several wild multipliers are included in wins, then the win line multipliers are added together.

Gamble Feature

Every time you land a winning combination you are offered the gamble feature. You can select Collect to skip the feature and continue with the base game or select gamble to play. In the gamble feature you’ll see a card dealt face down, and you can gamble your winnings by guessing the card colour or suit. Select red or black and if your guess is correct you will double your winnings. Select one of the four suits and if your guess is correct your winnings are quadrupled. If your guess is wrong the feature ends and you lose your winnings. If you win you can choose to gamble again with your new winnings level. You can carry on playing the gamble feature until you make an incorrect guess or you reach the maximum win amount. Alternatively, after any win you can select collect to end the feature, keeping what you have won so far. The winnings from the feature will be added to your credit balance.

If you’re familiar with online slots in general, then you’ll probably feel you’ve been here before several times. There is a surprising number of games that mine this highly traditional lode, so players are spoilt for choice. This kind of retro game remains very popular, but it has to be said that this is not one of the better entries. It’s simple, as it’s meant to be, but simple doesn’t have to be dull. Sadly, this an uninspiring and forgettable release from the usually reliable Stakelogic.
