Treasures of the 7 Seas Theme & Design

The vivid cartoon colours of this game make for a wonderful theme with a strong story. The reels are set into a treasure map, and in the distance you can see the ships’ rigging and a constantly moving ocean. The symbols feature ships, treasure chests, compasses and gold coins outlined in bright colours that make them stand out from the background. In fact, there are pirate artefacts everywhere you look. The buttons look like stray cannon balls, the paytable is set against the sea and the mini game sees your three cannons fire at other ships.

Treasures of the 7 Seas Animations & Audio

There’s lots of animation in Treasures of the 7 Seas, and you’ll be happy to know it runs smoothly and efficiently on all screens. The ocean in the background is in constant motion, and the reel symbols spring to life as soon as you hit a winning combination. The card symbols jiggle, the ship sways and the cannon balls drop into a pile. When you enter the mini game, there’s a beautiful animation screen where the cannons fire across the water at the moving ships in the background. The sound in this game is quite intense, though, as aside from the jaunty sea shanty soundtrack there are plenty of booms, beeps and jingles as the reels hit, fire and spin. It can become overpowering quite quickly, but you can easily turn it off in the game settings.

How to Play Treasures of the 7 Seas

The first thing you must do before you start spinning is choose your total bet per spin amount by using the toggle buttons on the dashboard controls. You can set your bet from as low as 0.20 and you can set your bet as high as 100.00. After that you can choose to spin the reels manually or choose a number of automatic spins for the game to play out on your behalf. The lower-paying symbols are the traditional card symbols, and the higher-paying ones are represented by pirate-themed icons. You can view the full paytable in the game menu. There are no Wilds or Scatter icons, but you’ll find two different bonus symbols that each trigger a mini game.

Treasures of the 7 Seas Bonus Feature & Free Spins

There are two bonus games in Treasures of the 7 Seas, which makes playing it even more interesting! The first is triggered when you collect enough cannon ball symbols on your reel screen. This activates a mini game where you have to fire your cannon at enemy ships to gain free spins and multipliers; the second mini game has the same rewards but with higher value, and it’s only triggered when you get three treasure chests that spell out ‘treasure hunt’. During this game, you’ll get to select one of the treasure chests on the screen to claim a bonus mystery prize. There’s always something happening in this fast-paced nautical adventure.

RTP & Volatility of Treasures of the 7 Seas

The RTP (return to player) rate of this game is a little under the expected average at 95.98%, but it’s barely noticeable during the game. The return to player rate indicates how much a player can expect to win back from their original wager over the course of many spins. This percentage is an average number and means that if you bet 100 on this game you can expect to win back 95.98 over time.

Treasures of the 7 Seas has a medium volatility rating, which means that you won’t have to wait too long to score winning hits, but the prize value can differ greatly. Lower volatility means more hits and lower-valued prizes, whereas higher-volatility games mean you have longer to wait between winning combinations but the rewards are of a much higher value. So as this is a medium-volatility game you’ll find a happy medium between the two.

If You Enjoyed Treasures of the 7 Seas You'll Love…

Another similar title by R. Franco Games is RF Big Catch, which has game mechanics that are identical to Treasures of the 7 Seas. Though the gameplay is the same, the theme differs somewhat (though still sharing a water theme), and the volatility, RTP and bonuses differ slightly to this game. It features a generous 40 paylines.

Our Verdict on Treasures of the 7 Seas

R Franco Slots are a Spanish company who develop a broad range of colourful, loud games with plenty to look at. They often feature a cartoonish style and a slew of sound effects and flashing lights, much like a real-life slot machine. Treasures of the 7 Seas is a beautifully designed game with some fun mini games, but it is missing a few sorely needed components as well as full translations for all of its buttons and features. The immersive atmosphere means it’s definitely one of the better pirate-themed slots available and is a highly enjoyable adventure on the high seas.
