Twistar Slot Overview

The format isn’t classic, though, with a 6x4 layout rather than the traditional 5x3 and a sequences of expanding, stacking, spinning, twisting symbols among its bonus features. Graphics and Theme
Colours, lights and music. Those are the sorts of things we expect at a disco, but they’ve also appeared in more than one video slot. In the case of Twistar, there’s a background of purple, complete with swirls and sparkles. There’s the retro font used for the title and the shimmering psychedelic colours of the star symbols with their neon glow, and of course there’s the soundtrack with its rhythmic electronic beat.
Stars and Bars
Retro and classic can sometimes be used as interchangeable descriptions when it comes to slots. You can find both in Twistar, which owes at least some of its inspiration to the ever-popular Starburst. Symbols include gems in single bold colours, neon-bright stars and the Bars and 7s often associated with fruit machines. It may be a modern game, but the imagery is familiar, depicted in a manner both simple and striking.

How to Play Twistar
Here's an overview of the game's controls:
- Try the menu first. That’s where you’ll find the info page that explains rules, features and payout potential. Info is also linked from the question mark in the top corner.
- Take note of the game history button also in the menu. It won’t say much yet, but later it’ll help you track your budget and make sure you’re not chasing losses.
- The third of the buttons in the menu is an on/off toggle for sound.
- Back on the main screen you now need to adjust your bet so it matches your taste for risk. Use the up and down arrows or click the main button to reveal all options. The minimum is 20p.
- Either click the spin button or press the space bar to set the reels turning, at which point it all comes down to chance.
- If you’re very lucky, you may find winning symbols, but it’s not guaranteed. Review your settings and limits regularly; know when to stop.

How to Win at Twistar
A 6x4 layout may make Twister more expansive than most slots, but the win mechanism is the same. You have paylines, in this case 40 of them, and you need to match a minimum of three symbols across one of those paylines.
Winning symbols can be gems, 7s or bars, with the star acting as a substitute wild if there’s a gap in your sequence. Wilds are also essential to the Twistar bonus features. Mystery symbols can transform into any regular paying icon, but there’s no scatter symbol.

- It takes six matching symbols to find a top payout.
- Most valuable of those symbols is the Bar. Six of them come with a x20 win multiplier on your original bet.
- Triggering bonus features can lead to additional multipliers in some cases.

Twistar Bonuses
Mystery symbols are one feature in the Twistar slot, but there’s also a more complex sequences of features where expanding wilds lead to re-spins, twists and possibly even multipliers. Unlike many slots, it’s not the scatter symbol that leads to bonus features.
Mystery Symbols
These are six-pointed stars with a swirling vortex in the middle. They begin in a dark shade of purple, but every time a new mystery symbol appears, it brings one point to a colourful life. If all six are lit up, then the star will transform into one of the regular paying symbols, chosen at random.
Expanding Wilds
Only available on the fourth, fifth and sixth reels, wilds can expand so the entire reel becomes stacked. Once you have a stack of wilds, you’ll be awarded a free re-spin during which every segment of the mystery symbols will be lit in colour. You can’t win more than nine re-spins.
Re-spins
This is where the “twist” that accompanies the wild “star” of the title comes into play. Wild stacks twist during re-spins so reel 4 lands on reel 3, reel 5 lands on reel 2 and reel 6 lands on reel 1.
Top Retro Slots
Multipliers
Once stacked wilds have twisted, they become sticky and remain on their new reels. If more wild stacks twist to land on top of the already sticky wilds, those wilds will gain a win multiplier starting at x2 and potentially increasing. They’re not quite on the scale of the Gates of Olympus slot, but they still have the potential to improve your overall payouts.

They’ll be dark when you first see them, but if you manage to light up every point, then they will transform into a regular symbol - one that may come with a payout. To light them up you need to find multiple mystery symbols at once.
How do you twist symbols in the Twistar slot?
First you need to find some of the star-shaped wilds in the base game, triggering their expansion. When they stack to fill a reel, you’ll be granted a re-spin. During the re-spin, your stacks will “twist”, which means they’re pulled around until they land on the opposite reel (4 to 3, 5 to 2 or 6 to 1).
Does the Twistar slot have any multipliers?
Twisted symbols become sticky, so they stay in place for the next spin. If you manage to find another set of twisted symbols and land them on top of the ones that are stuck in place, that’s when you trigger a multiplier.
