Introduction

This can be a simple three-reel fruit machine with only five paylines; alternatively, you can up this to an impressive six reels and 20 paylines. Theme, graphics & soundtrack

You might think fruit machines are thematically simple slots, but Up4Timer isn’t exactly typical. It has all the classic imagery, with the reels looking like they are straight from a land-based machine, set amidst a blurred background that is clearly inside a brick and mortar casino. The symbols are also familiar, with oranges, lemons, grapes and plums joined by the 7, crown and joker. They are all drawn with the most basic graphics - bold lines surrounding bright colours - for a real retro feel. The sound effects are also retro. How to play Up4Timer

We have all seen a fruit machine before, but this one is and isn’t similar:

1. When you first load the game, you will be asked whether you want to activate super stake. If you change your mind while playing, the button is on the right of the screen or can be found on the bet page.
2. Go to the menu, which is accessed in the top left-hand corner. This will open with the paytable.
3. From here, you can navigate to the game rules and settings. These include toggles for the gamble feature, spacebar spin and game sounds. The main screen has its own mute button.
4. Also on the main screen, below the menu, is the bet button. You will see all the available bet amounts alongside max bet and super stake options. You can also adjust your bet on the main screen by using the plus and minus symbols.
5. Next is the turbo button. This is followed by autoplay, or automatic spins, which has a full range of settings including the number of spins, a loss limit and a single win limit. 
6. Always have a loss and single win limit in mind before playing. This also applies when you are using the regular spin button on the main screen. Sensible budgeting is how you keep your game under control and have fun.
7. You can have three, four, five or six reels in play, which both increases your bet and your number of ways to win. It is a balancing act. Click the select games button beneath the reels.

Gamble 

The gamble feature will be familiar to many of you. This is the simplest kind and is optional after every winning spin. Rather than being based on cards, it relies on the flip of a coin. You double your prize if you correctly guess heads or tails but lose it all if you are wrong.

Double symbols

You will sometimes see a symbol that is both a fruit and a joker. These symbols can be used to complete regular combinations - for example, an orange/joker can be matched with regular oranges - or any combination of three fruit/joker symbols awards a special joker prize.

Super stake

Up4Timer may not be the best slot if you like fruit machines for their simplicity; however, if you love the classics but wish they could have a little more depth, the adjustable number of reels and the super stake option make this an interestingly complex slot with multiple layers and opportunities to win. The graphics are plain but in a nostalgic retro style.
