Wild Cat Canyon Review
Wild Cat Canyon is another great free slots game from Next Gen that is available now to play on our site via browsers or mobile and tablet devices.
Layout
Like most of the games on our site, Wild Cat Canyon is made up of five reels with three rows each laid out in a standard 5x3 configuration. There are up to 25 paylines that can be selected in series.
A wide and generous range of prizes is awarded to lucky players for finding instances of two, three, four and five-of-a-kind adjacent symbol matches oriented from left to right on an active payline.
In total, there are 12 symbols, 10 of which are regular sorts for prize matches, with the remaining two being extra-special additions that provide wild and scatter functionality in addition to free spins.
Prize Table
The most valuable of the regular symbols is the distressed-looking bird. This offers large possible top prizes of 5,000 credits for finding five when playing with the maximum bet. Next up is the panicked goat, which awards much smaller maximum prizes of 1,000 credits.
Down at the other end of the scale are the lowly 10 and 9 symbols, which both award the same range of prizes, up to a slightly measly total of 100 credits.
Nevertheless, with continued play, perseverance, and just a little bit of luck, even these smaller amounts can soon add up to something much bigger.
Bonus
First among the special symbols is the titular wild cat, an angry-looking beast that only appears on reels two and four. This is a substitute, which means that it can be used in place of any other symbol except for the scatter as part of a winning combination on an active payline.
The wild in this game, unlike some others, does not award prizes itself, but it is great for increasing a player's winning opportunities.
The second and final special symbol is the scatter, depicted here as a paw print. This serves two functions: awarding prizes and unlocking the game's bonus free spins round.
It can be found in any configuration regardless of selected paylines and positions. A total prize of 200 credits for five scatters is available when playing with the maximum bet.
Free Spins
Finding three or more scatters unlocks the free spins round, wherein players choose between a range of options before beginning from five to 15 free spins, accompanied by a 3x, 5x or 10x multiplier in descending order. It is possible to win additional free spins whilst in this game mode. If this happens, a reselection of spins and multipliers will be presented at the end of the current free spins.
All free spins are played using the selected paylines and bet size of the regular spin that initially triggered them.
Last but not least is the wild respins feature, which occurs during free spins. If a wild symbol appears anywhere during a free spin, that reel is held while the other reels are spun again.
