Introduction

You need something special to make jewel themed slots like Gemonex stand out from the very large crowd, and it’s up for debate whether Betixon have succeeded.

It’s not unusual to combine gems and space in a slot. The colour of the stones makes a nice contrast against the blackness of the sky. It’s also not uncommon for a slot to have five reels and 25 paylines. It’s safe to say that Gemonex isn’t the most original of the Betixon demo slots available.

You have five familiar card symbols, four regular gem symbols and Wild and Scatter symbols that take the form of more gems (Wilds can turn into Expanding Wilds and Scatters can trigger free spins). It’s the combination of free spins and multipliers that give this slot a little more flavour and ensure that it is worth playing.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

This is a very basic looking slot with only the barest attempt at a theme. The background is technically a starry sky, but it’s blurry and generic. The gem symbols on the reels are colourful, but still crudely drawn. It doesn’t even have the charm that some more retro slots have when they try to recreate the styles of yesteryear. Theme and graphics are definitely one of this slot’s weak points, though the science fiction soundtrack isn’t so bad. If you want a little more complexity from your gems, maybe try something like the Gemix slot demo with its 7x7 grid and incredible colours.

Gemonex RTP & Volatility

There doesn’t appear to be any official information on Gemonex’s RTP, which is unusual and makes it difficult to assess the slot. The volatility is medium, so fairly balanced in terms of risk and reward, but it tends slightly more towards lower wins.

How to Play Gemonex

Gemonex doesn’t just look simple, it’s simple to play. All you need to do is figure out the six buttons available to click:

1. Up at the top right of the screen is a little “i”. This will open the paytable and game info, where you can scroll through the pages that tell you about potential payouts and bonus features as well as the general gameplay.

2. That same top corner also has the speaker that can be used to mute the sound.

3. In the top left corner, however, you can find the full screen button.

4. There are three buttons at the right of the reels. The bottom one shows a stack of coins and when you click it will show every available level of total bet for you to choose.

5. The topmost button is autoplay (here called autobet). You can choose between five and 50 automatic spins, but you can also choose to have it stop when it reaches your win, single win or loss limits as well as on a win or the triggering of a feature.

6. As it tends to be, the Spin button is right in the middle and bigger than the others. It’s also bright orange so you can’t miss it. When you click, the reels will turn and the game will be underway.

7. If you’re playing responsibly and have set your budget, you’ll want to keep a close eye on the displays at the bottom of the screen whilst the game is ongoing. The one at the bottom left shows your balance and the bottom right shows your bet.

The 0.25 to 25.00 range available in the bet adjustor isn’t huge, and probably isn’t big enough for the high rollers, but it should be enough for more casual players. Wilds that appear on the second, third and fourth reels may expand at random to fill the reel and increase your chance of finding a winning line.

All you need to trigger the bonus free spins round is to hit the Scatter three or more times. You can even retrigger the round an unlimited number of times. You will be awarded ten free spins to start with, but the unlimited ability to retrigger along with a x3 multiplier does add depth to the feature.

Our Verdict

This isn’t the most exciting slot in the world for a variety of reasons. The graphics are generic at best, the attempt to add a space theme is half-hearted and the rewards aren’t particularly huge. Expanding Wilds are always good and it is a nice touch adding the multiplier and unlimited retriggers to the free spins round, but other than that there isn’t much to set Gemonex apart.
