Introduction
The Mega Moolah range of slots have proven incredibly successful for Microgaming - and they’re enjoyed by players all over the world thanks to their humongous win-potential, with the progressive jackpot often running into the millions of pounds. In fact, the original Mega Moolah slot currently holds the Guiness World Record for the biggest slot win in history - coming in at around EUR13,000,000!
We’ve already seen a few follow ups to the original Mega Moolah, and the latest installment in the franchise is Juicy Joker Mega Moolah - a game that looks set to become yet another popular release from the developer, and one that offers no less than four progressive jackpots!
Format and Betting OPtions
Juicy Joker Mega Moolah is built around a 5-reel, 3-row format, and there’s a total of 20 fixed paylines in play. You’ll find yourself able to spin from as little as 0.10 credits per spin, and the maximum bet is 10 credits; a little low, but nothing too out of the ordinary for a progressive jackpot slot.
Like most Microgaming slots, Juicy Joker Mega Moolah comes with an autoplay function, and this allows you to set up to 100 spins to play out automatically. (Non-UK players can set up to 1,000 spins.) There’s also a quick spin mode available - although, again, this is unavailable to those based in the UK due to new UKGC guidelines that prevent game developers from offering quickspin to residents in the UK.

Juicy Joker Mega Moolah RTP
Unfortunately, the RTP of Juicy Joker Mega Moolah comes in quite low, at 92.03%. Microgaming haven’t (yet) announced how much of this RTP contributes towards the progressive jackpot - although, if it’s anything like previous releases, we expect it to be around 2-3%.
Payouts and Volatility
Juicy Joker Mega Moolah, like most progressive jackpot slots, is a volatile machine - and while it’s not super volatile, like some of the releases we’re seeing from other game developers like Big Time Gaming and Konami, we should point out that you should expect to see fairly brutal playing periods - it can be tough on your casino balance if you don’t manage to trigger the feature!
High and Low Paying Symbols
The game’s symbols are split into two - and first, you’ve got the lower-paying symbols. These are fairly basic, and are all playing card suits. This includes Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds and Spades.
Juicy Joker Mega Moolah’s higher-paying symbols are all themed around fruit machines, and these are the better-paying symbols - i.e. the ones you’ll want to keep an eye out for! The higher-paying symbols include Cherries, Grapes, Oranges and Watermelons.
Juicy Joker Mega Moolah Bonus Features
We think it’s fair to say that, for a progressive jackpot slot, Juicy Joker Mega Moolah has a lot going for it - and that’s because Microgaming has chosen to pack in a number of different bonuses and features. Below, we’ll take a look at what these bonuses and features are - and what you can expect when playing them for yourself.
Progressive Jackpot Wheel Feature
The biggest attraction of playing Juicy Joker Mega Moolah - without a doubt - is the Progressive Jackpot Wheel Feature, and this is triggered by landing three of the Golden Jokers on the middle three reels. Doing so will trigger the Wheel Feature, and you’ll then be taken to a new game screen where you’ll see a giant wheel. This is similar to the original Mega Moolah slot - although the graphics and visuals have been updated and it looks much better today!
The wheel will then begin to spin, and it’s possible for you to win:
- A cash prize of 1x, 2x or 3x your stake
- The mini jackpot which seeds at 10 credits
- The minor jackpot which seeds at 100 credits
- The major jackpot which seeds at 10,000 credits
- The mega jackpot which seeds at 1 million credits
Now, it’s hard to predict how much these progressive jackpots will be worth - as, at the time of writing, they are likely to differ to when you play - however, Microgaming “seeds” them pretty high - and this means the minimum progressive jackpot amount is always at least a certain figure.
Re-spin with Returning Wilds
The most creative addition to a progressive jackpot we’ve seen in a while is the re-spin with returning wilds feature built into Juicy Joker Mega Moolah. This is triggered by landing a re-spin wild on the middle reel - and you’ll then trigger the bonus automatically. The wild that lands (along with any other wilds in view) will then transform into “Returning Wilds”, and these lock in place and a re-spin is awarded.
Free Spins
The free-spins bonus round in Juicy Joker Mega Moolah is much better than the bonus we saw in the original Mega Moolah - and that’s because the Re-spin with Returning wilds feature is present. You’ll be able to trigger the free-spins bonus round by landing three of the scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5, and you’ll then be awarded with 9 free-spins.
If, during the bonus round, the re-spin returning wilds land in view the feature will be triggered - and, from our experience, it’s pretty common to trigger this feature a couple of times during the bonus.
Juicy Joker Mega Moolah Review
Compared to the original Mega Moolah (while still somewhat of an iconic slot), Juicy Joker Mega Moolah is incredibly well-made. The game is really nicely done, it looks great, and play is fluid, smooth and lag-free. We really like how Microgaming have chosen to “bring the slot into the 21st century”, and while it does rely on a pretty old-school theme (fruit machine-inspired slots are getting a bit tiresome, aren’t they?) the software provider has done a great job, and the graphics, animations and sound effects work well.
We like the fact that there’s four progressive jackpots - and while winning two of the major ones will prove relatively tough, the two lower ones can be won pretty frequently, and the wheel bonus looks a lot more modern, so it’s definitely an improvement on the previous release.
We also really like the fact that there’s a returning wilds re-spin feature - this is something we haven’t seen in a progressive jackpot slot before, and it ensures that there’s more going on in the game - so we’d expect to see this going down well with players.
Our only criticism of the game is that, excluding the progressive jackpots, the maximum win is just 500X your stake. This is pretty low - and combined with the low RTP of 92.03%, we’re unsure if this will go down too well with players. However, progressive jackpot slots always seem to do well - so we wouldn’t rule out Juicy Joker Mega Moolah just yet!

Juicy Joker Mega Moolah FAQs
How much can I win playing Juicy Joker Mega Moolah?
During the non-progressive jackpot rounds, the maximum win of Juicy Joker Mega Moolah is 500X your stake. This is, unfortunately, quite low - and it may turn away some players who are going in search or slightly higher win-potential. However, with the progressive jackpots in play, it’s possible to win - potentially - millions of pounds… and it’s not unusual for the progressive jackpots in the Mega Moolah slots to grow to well above £10 million - so we are talking (potentially) life-changing sums of money here!
What’s the RTP of Juicy Joker Mega Moolah?
Unfortunately, it’s the RTP of Juicy Joker Mega Moolah that is likely going to turn some players off playing the game - and that’s because it comes in pretty low at just 92.03%. Still, this isn’t too unusual for a progressive jackpot game, but it’s something that you should be aware of.
What are progressive jackpots?
Progressive jackpots are pooled amounts of money that can be won while playing a slot - Juicy Joker Mega Moolah, in this case. Each time a player spins the slot, the amount of the progressive jackpots increases ever so slightly, and it continues to increase until a lucky player manages to scoop one of the jackpots - at which point they “reset” back to their seeding level, and the process repeats itself.
What bonuses and features will I find in Juicy Joker Mega Moolah?
Aside from the four progressive jackpots that you’ll find inside Juicy Joker Mega Moolah, there are also two other bonuses and features worth looking out for. First, you’ve got a sticky wild re-spin feature, where wilds lock in place, with the potential to fill the entire screen. You’ve also got a free spins bonus, and during the free spins, the sticky wilds re-spin feature is also active - so there’s plenty to look forward to!
Who made Juicy Joker Mega Moolah?
Juicy Joker Mega Moolah is developed by Microgaming - one of the largest names in the iGaming industry, and a company who have decades of experience under their belt. While, in recent years, Microgaming’s games have been outsourced to smaller (less experienced) game studios, they still push out quality content from time to time - and Juicy Joker Mega Moolah is a great example of what the studio are capable of, when they really put their minds to it.
