Sometimes, slot developers think really far outside of the box to come up with slot themes – and ELK Studios is one software maker that does so pretty often. Games like Nitropolis (set in a dystopian world taken over by animal clans) and Visitors (where alien abductions lead to big wins) are very unusual but Miss Wildfire really takes the cake.

Miss Wildfire is a Flame who has come to life, borne out of the fireplace in Edgar’s lab. Now, we’re not really sure what Miss Wildfire’s mission is from a storyline perspective – but, she triggers some decent bonuses.

The overall design of the game is interesting, too. Miss Wildfire’s symbols consist of items that are consistent with the narrative like logs, flames and weird gold-framed geometric shapes. There is an eerie soundtrack, as well, which suits the mad scientist type of theme.

How to Win

There are 466 ways to win in Miss Wildfire, and wins are created by landing three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels. The most generous symbol in the game is the red gem which pays out a prize of 10x for a six-of-a-kind combination. 

Miss Wildfire Respins

When Miss Wildfire appears on the reels, she triggers a respin sequence where she travels across the reels. As a wild, she makes it for you to land wins. If she lands next to a log symbol, she will turn it and any symbols in its stack wild as well.

Another benefit of the Miss Wildfire symbol is that she holds any bonus symbols in place. So, while she’s present on the reels, you have a greater chance to landing the free spins bonus.

Free Spins

When you land three or more scatters, you’ll trigger the free spins bonus – during which extra Miss Wildfire symbols are added to the reels. There is also a new bonus meter where log symbols are collected. As you collect more symbols, the meter charges and you’ll transform low-paying symbols into logs.

Even though the log is the lowest-paying symbol, it’s fortunate that the other symbols transform into logs because only they can turn wild. So, if you manage to transform several symbols in the free spins round of Miss Wildfire, you can bag some really great wins.  

Miss Wildfire Review

Miss Wildfire is one of the most unusual slots we’ve seen in terms of theme and design. However, we think its better for a slot to be a bit strange than to feature a done-to-death theme – so there’s definitely a charm to this ELK Studios slot.

The bonus features in this slot are a little bit complicated to understand at first, and the paytable doesn’t offer much help. So, you do have to play the game a bit before you figure everything out (and hopefully our explanation has given you some useful insight).

In the free spins round, there are even more interesting features on offer, as a bonus meter is thrown into the mix with transforming symbols. There really is lots going on and it all works together to create an entertaining experience.
