Safari Dreams has plenty of pros. With all 243 ways in play, the game pays out frequently. It also has an easy to customise autoplay feature and free spins. It also has a couple of major drawbacks. The game allows only specific total bets, so it’s not fully customisable, and the pay table isn’t easy to interpret as it doesn’t update based on your bet.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

Safari Dreams is an African safari-themed slots game, and that carries through all its graphics and sound choices.

Safari Dreams’ graphics include African animals, savannah scenes and tribal masks. By far the best bit of the graphics is the fur texture on the number symbols. No, pink fur isn’t particularly “safari”, but it does raise a smile. In Safari Dreams, grazing giraffes are the wild symbol and an African tribal mask is the Scatter symbol, so when it appears free spins are on the way. Safari Dreams’ theme stops at the pay table, which is a simple uncluttered interface.

When you win free spins the background switches to a night scene, and the music picks up pace a little for a bit of added excitement.

The background audio is a pleasant bit of music played on drums and pipes that is right on theme. You can even hear some very quiet birdsong. When you hit play, Safari Dreams overlays some standard slot machine noises: you’ll hear reels whoosh into place and the jingle of coins when you win.

It’s tough to find the theoretical return to player in Safari Dreams, which is something of a flaw in the design. Safari Dreams is definitely a low-volatility slots game, though, so you can expect a lot of wins, with most of them on the smaller side.

How to Play Safari Dreams

Playing Safari Dreams is as easy as pushing a button, but there are a few controls and settings you can customise to play the way you want to.

1. Go full screen by pressing the four arrows in the top left of the screen (and press ESC to exit that mode). Use the speaker icon in the top right to turn music and FX on or off.
2. Use the i symbol to pull up Safari Dreams’ game information, where you can check the payouts for each symbol and look at the Wild and Scatter rules.
3. Turn on autoplay with the fast-forward icon, if you want, and set how many spins you want it to run for, what conditions should stop it and what your loss limit is going to be.
4. For normal gameplay, just press the orange play button on the right of the game each time you want to play.
5. Adjust your total bet using the coins icon on the right of the screen.
6. If you win free spins, they’ll start automatically.

 Bet & Win Sizes

The default bet for Safari Dreams is 3, shown in the currency you’re playing in (so EUR in the UK or Europe). Your bet and account balance are shown on the bottom of the screen. You can adjust your bet with the stack of coins icon on the right of the screen, from 0.3 to 30.

When you win, you’ll see the payout right in the middle of the game screen, and the game won’t move on until you spin again unless you’re in autoplay: there’s no chance of missing a win.

The pay table in the info guide shows all possible payouts in the currency of your bet, and most pay out if the symbol occurs three, four or five times on any line. There’s one important note about the pay table: whatever your current bet is, the pay table shows winnings as if you’d placed the maximum possible bet (in this case 30).

Multipliers shown are for three symbols and five symbols. As you would expect, lower multipliers (three symbols; nines and tens) are the most common.

Scatter and Wild symbols also pay out if you land three or more in the same spin, and the Wild symbol stands in for any other symbol.

The Wild symbol offers the best payout of any symbol, with 66.67x your bet for five Wild symbols.

Safari Dreams Bonus Features

Safari Dreams just has one gameplay mode and a free spins feature. Its strengths are in frequent though small payouts - not a massive variety of game modes.

When free spins trigger they’re flagged at the top of the screen and with a change in the game’s background image. The music also changes slightly if you have your sound on.

You get eight free spins to start with, but you can win more (in blocks of eight), so if you get lucky you can keep the free spins rolling for a long time.

Overall Review

Safari Dreams is a fun game with a couple of important pros & cons. It pays out very regularly, if not in massive amounts, free spins are pretty common, and it’s nice to look at. On the other hand, there is only one gameplay mode and the pay table can be confusing.
