Star Fall Symbols and Payouts
Star Fall is a five-reel, three-row slot. As well as the fruits and the bell, there's a gleaming sapphire and the usual playing cards. They all look brilliant against the velvety black background.
Obviously, wins vary according to the amount of your wager, but a notional one coin or one euro bet delivers wins as follows. The gorgeous blue sapphire shines out as the top winner. Five of these beauties will net you 20, four will get you eight, and three will get you four.
The bell and the watermelon have the same payout - 12 for five of them, four for four of them and two for three of them.
The cherries and the grapes have the same payout - six for five of them, three for four of them and 1.40 for three of them.
Finally, the lemon is really a lemon when it comes to winning - five lemons net you just four, while four lemons will get a meagre two, and three lemons will have you making a sour face as you'll get just a measly one.
When it comes to the playing cards, Aces and Kings pay 3.2 for five, 1.2 for four and 0.6 for three. Queens and Jacks pay 2, 0.8 and 0.4 for five, four and three occurrences.
Free Spins and Coin Collection in Star Fall
The wild symbol is a gold star set on the background of a starry sky. It substitutes for every other symbol except for two. These are the coin symbol and the coin stack symbol.
The coin stack is the scatter, and it only appears on the middle reel. It triggers the free spins feature, giving you six free spins. During the free spins feature, the coins become collectables!
They only appear on the second, third and fourth reels. When a free spin finishes, if there are any collectable coins on these reels, they're hoarded! There's a gold box which has a slot for each reel - three, four and five. Each time a collectable coin shows up, it moves up to the box above the reel where it was found. If you can get three collectable coins on one reel, the whole reel will fill with wilds. Then it locks into place for the rest of the free spins feature. You won't need telling that this vastly increases your chances of winning.
Star Fall's Falling Wilds Respin Feature
During your spins, you might see falling wild star symbols on the unlocked reels. It's great if you do because they trigger a respin! The unlocked reels that the wilds have appeared on will move one symbol position - which could mean more wins. At the end of a respin, the line wins are totted up. If there are one or more wilds on any unlocked reels, you get another respin. This goes on until there are no wilds on any of the unlocked reels.
Adjusting Your Bet in Star Fall
To adjust the size of your wager, use the simple up arrow control on the dashboard at the foot of the game area. A grid opens on screen, and you can set your bet level from 0.25 to 100 by clicking on the wager level squares. Your balance and your current total bet will both be displayed on the dashboard at the bottom of the playing area. Now here's the clever thing: when you go and look at the paytable, the winning amounts reflect the level of bet that you've selected.
Autoplay in Star Fall
On the left of the larger spin button is a smaller Autoplay button. Click on this and you'll see a pop-up box with a good range of Autoplay options. In the top row you can set the number of spins to 10, 20, 50 or 100, or switch off the feature.
You can also limit your losses during Autoplay by stopping the feature if your losses mount up to a certain level. The level is expressed as a multiplier of your total bet. You can choose to stop the feature if you've lost x5, x10, x20, x50 or x100 your total bet.
There's also a single win limit, again expressed as multipliers of your total bet. So you can place no limit and continue with Autospin even after a very large win. Or you can stop the game if you've won x10, x20, x50 or x100 of your total bet.
When you select a number of spins for automatic play, that number is displayed on the Autospin control to the left of the main spin button. The total counts down as the spins proceed.
Adjusting Other Star Fall Features
Click on the 3x3 grid of squares at the extreme left of the dashboard and you’ll see a range of options for customising the game. You can set the autospin options, described above, from this menu, and you can also click on the pile of coins icon to adjust the size of your bet. In the menu, the 3x3 grid takes you to the paytable. Use the slider bar on the right of the paytable to see the next screen.
The settings icon (a cog) in the options menu allows you to switch sounds on or off so that you can control all sounds, just the sound effects or just the music. The sounds are good fun, in fact, with whooshes, electronic bleeps and other audio to keep you on the edge of your seat (if you're sitting!).
At the bottom of this menu you'll see a question mark icon. Click on this to access Star Fall help. This is a great feature which explains exactly how the payouts are calculated and how the Falling Wilds Respin feature, the Free Spins Feature and the Coin Collection game work.
The "Home" button can take you out of the game, so when you're asked if you want to return to the lobby, just click "No", to return to the game.
If You Like Star Fall, You'll Love These …
Starburst has to be the slot that everyone references - NetEnt produced the most popular slot of all time, with players returning again and again to this classic title. On the surface, it looks like a simple 5x3 slot with just 10 paylines. But it has a couple of great features in its favour. Whereas most slots only count wins from left to right, Starburst pays out from right to left too. The game also has expanding wilds, which can take up the whole reel for as many as three respins. So with three wilds on three reels, the chances of a big win rocket!
The graphics are bright and shiny jewels, and Starburst has a neat feature where the ten paylines are shown on screen and you can hover over any of them to see them on screen. Try it out yourself for free here at Slots Temple, and see whether you agree that it deserves its place as the brightest star in the gaming firmament: Starburst slot demo.
Jewel colours and jewel-themed slots work really well on tablet and mobile screens, and IGT takes full advantage of this in their Da Vinci Diamonds. The emeralds, rubies and diamonds look good enough to eat! This is another mega-popular slot with tumbling reels, free spins, bet multipliers and a whole new set of jewels during the bonus round. Not only that, you get a free art history lesson as Da Vinci masterpieces like the Mona Lisa and the Madonna of the Rocks feature in the gameplay.
So popular are jewel-themed slots that Slots Temple has over two hundred of them. If you want to see more, Slots Temple has done the hard work for you and collected the whole lot under one Theme so that you can browse through and pick the ones that look interesting. Just go up to the red menu at the top of the screen and click on Themes. You'll see a page with icons illustrating lots of different ones and can pick "Jewels" to see what you'd like to play next.
There's Gemtastic, Gem Heat, Gems Gone Wild, Mysterious Gems, Icy Gems, Glitter Gems, Gnomes Gems (what?) and scores of others. Gems of the Night from Merkur is one of the ones with the best graphics, combining gems with a game featuring elegant cats.
But if it's the Stars that attract you to Star Fall, there are dozens more games to play here too. Stars Awakening from Playtech is a brilliant slot that whirls you away into outer space. It features giant symbols and expanding scatters as well as alien astronauts and a whole set of bright and beautiful planets. There's a fantastic Supernova Scatter feature in which the scatters multiply themselves (a bit like an alien life form).
You should find Star Spinner interesting too. It makes a nod in the direction of the vintage fruit machine but then adds an unexpected modern take. Blueprint Gaming has added a wild that is a flashing purple planet and a bonus based on a spinning star along with exploding mystery symbols.
And while we're in the Cosmos - just stop at the third planet on the left, where you'll find NetEnt's Cosmic Eclipse. With a black hole vortex bonus feature, weird planets, including one that looks like an orbiting cabbage, meteorites and a completely different-looking play area, this is a truly innovative slot. It has just one bonus feature - but it's a cracker. The Black Hole feature involves the spinning vortex on the right of the screen which speeds up as diamond shapes appear around it. Then the black hole starts pulling the planets in - you need to play it to appreciate it, but it is definitely one of the most amazing slots out there.
And the beauty of it is that these are all free to play at Slots Temple!
