Temple of Light is a video slot from Inspired Gaming that’s set in an ancient world of temples, statues and mysterious orbs. The game offers up an RTP of 95.51% and has 20 fixed paylines. Bonuses and features on offer include two free spins rounds, and two base-game reel modifiers which can add expanding and multiplying wild symbols to the reels.

Introduction

Inspired Gaming’s latest slot is called Temple of Light - a well-designed game that offers you the chance to win up to 5,000X your stake on a single spin. The game boasts two different free spins features, allowing you to choose your own volatility, and some nifty in-game reel modifiers include wild multipliers and expanding wilds.

Graphics and Theme

While Temple of Light doesn’t have a set theme, per-se, it’s clear that the slot is designed around some kind of ancient civilization. This is made immediately apparent by the two statues that line each side of the reels, with cracks down the middle of them both. Directly below the reels you’ll see - what looks to be the inside of an old temple - but it doesn’t really have a distinct theme, like we’re used to seeing in some of the software provider’s other slots.

Graphically, Temple of Light is really impressive - and the symbols all look fantastic, rendering in full HD. The gameplay is also impressively smooth and crisp - an issue some of the game developer’s older games used to struggle with - and some cool-looking win animations ensure each and every spin is as exciting as the last!

Temple of Light’s RTP and Volatility

While the game itself is probably more medium variance than high, the main bonus round - details of which we’ll cover below - allows you to choose which bonus you want, with a medium and high variance option.

The game’s RTP is 95.51%, which is a little low - but a maximum win of 5,000X your stake ensures there’s some relatively good win-potential to be found!

Bonus Features

Inspired Gaming are quite well-known for cramming tons of bonuses and features into their games - and Temple of Light is no exception to this rule!

Multiplier Wild Game

When the statue on the left-hand-side becomes active (this happens before a spin plays out) the Multiplier Wild Game is triggered. This means that any wilds that then land in view on that spin transform into multiplier wilds - and the more wilds that land naturally, the higher the multiplier.

For example, landing one wild will see it transform into a 2X multiplier wild, while landing five or more wilds will see all instances of the wild symbol carrying a whopping 10X multiplier!

Expanding Wild Game

The Expanding Wild Game is triggered if the statue on the right-hand-side of the screen is activated before a spin; when this happens, any wilds in view that land on the subsequent spin will transform into expanding wilds, filling the entire reel they land on. It’s possible to land five expanding wilds, allowing you the potential of hitting a full screen of wild symbols!

Expanding Multiplier Wild Game

If you’re lucky enough to activate both statues at the same time you’ll trigger the - rare - Expanding Multiplier Wild Game. On this spin, all wilds that land in view will expand - and they will also have a multiplier of up to 10X attached to them, just like in the Multiplier Wild Game. The Expanding Multiplier Wild Game can only occur during the free spins feature, details of which we’ll cover below - but it can be very lucrative, as it’s possible to land a full screen of wilds, with a 10X multiplier applied against the total win!

Free Spins

The free spins bonus in Temple of Light is triggered by landing three of the scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Doing so will trigger the main bonus round - and you will then have the choice to pick one of two bonuses:

  • Bonus 1: A lower variance of the two free spin bonuses, where you’ll be awarded 12 free spins. On each spin, at least one of the statue symbols will be active. It’s also possible to re-trigger the feature by landing another 3 scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Doing so awards an additional 12 free spins.
  • Bonus 2: A much more volatile bonus round, where you receive between 3 and 6 free spins. During this bonus, both of the statues are active on each spin - giving you some pretty decent win-potential on every spin. It’s also possible to win another 3-6 free spins by landing another 3 scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5.

Temple of Light Review

While, in the past, Inspired Gaming’s online gambling portfolio left a lot to be desired, in their credit, the software provider has done an excellent job in the last couple of years upping their game. So, it’s no surprise that they’re now considered a leading figurehead in the iGaming industry.

Slots from Inspired Gaming are getting better and better, and Temple of Light is testament to that; the game’s perfectly designed, offers a much more user-friendly user-interface than their old games, and the volatility of the games means there’s a lot more win-potential on offer as well.

One of the things we really do like about Temple of Light is the fact that, once triggered, you have the option to choose between two different free spins features. For those looking for a guaranteed hit, the lower variance option is perfect - and those in search of those monster, 500X+ wins will find the highly volatile option well-suited for their needs.

It’s a well-rounded game, with perfect graphics - and in our opinion, Temple of Light is a fantastic effort from Inspired Gaming.

Temple of Light Slot FAQs

When is Temple of Light due to be released at online casinos?

According to Inspired Gaming, the game will be released at online casinos on the 5th February, 2021. However, as with many video slots, this time-frame may well change, as the game needs to be certified and awarded a license by the world’s various iGaming regulators. Until then, you can play it for free here.

Is there a turbo spin option in Temple of Light?

Yes, within the game settings you will find a turbo spin option in Temple of Light. This allows you to decrease the amount of time it takes between spins, and means you can skip through some of the (sometimes) boring and slow gameplay. However, we should point out that due to new regulations brought in by the UK’s Gambling Commission, the turbo spin/quickspin option is no longer available to UK-based players, unfortunately.

How many free-spins bonuses are there?

While there is just one free-spins bonus round which you can land on the reels, once triggered, you are actually given the choice to choose between two different free-spins variations. The first, Bonus 1, is a lower variance bonus - while the second, Bonus 2, is much more volatile, offering bigger win-potential.

How does the Multiplier Wild Game work?

The Wild Multiplier Game is triggered when the statue on the left-hand-side of the reels becomes active - this happens at the beginning of a spin. When it comes, any wild symbols that then land in view on that spin turn into multiplier wilds, and the more wilds that land in view, the higher this multiplier will be. For example, if you manage to land 5+ wilds in view, they will all have a whopping 10X multiplier attached to them!
