Introduction

Gangster Paradise is a five-reel, three-row online slot with 25 fixed paylines, set around American Gangsters in the 1920s.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The characters are all dressed as if we're in 1920s Chicago, and the chief of police is on his way to smash a bootlegging ring. Symbols are lovingly rendered, with neat animations abounding when wins are achieved. The gangster fires off a few rounds of his Tommy gun if he is involved in a winning combination for example, and the wild revolver chamber spins quickly if it causes a win.

One gripe would be that the text on the Bonus and Wild symbols are not in keeping with the 1920s theme of the game, making the game look a little anachronistic.

There's no mistaking the music, however, with a moody jazz walking bassline accompanied by sporadic piano chords and crisp hi-hats provide the underscore to the game. This is enhanced by a rousing flourish when wins happen, in a lovely touch. In many games win jingles either just happen regardless, or break the mood. Here they happen as part of the soundtrack, happening in time with the backing music.

There is a special rousing big band soundtrack that underscores the free spin feature, making it feel as special as it is.
