I'm up all night to Get Clucky!
In many ways this is quite a standard IGT game - 20 paylines, 5 reels and a solitary bonus round that is Free Spins based and the theme is one that we've seen before from the likes of Baryard Bonanza games produced by Ainsworth and Gamesys. It's not the most generous of games either, clocking in with an expected payback of between 91.71% and 95.7%, however the game does have something about it - it's pretty volatile and offers the possibility of some pretty big wins, with x10,000 being the top one - it's not often you get that kind of multiple.
As usual IGT get their sound design right, lots of birds tweeting, chicken clucking and roosters crowing all set the the beat of a double bass and drum and accompanied by a South-USA style banjo each time you hit a win. You could well imagine some farm-hillbillies having a ho-down to this soundtrack, although you'd have to hope that this guy on the porch is not anywhere near the proceedings.
You want to give the reels another spin to get that beat kicked off each time and I guess that's exactly what IGT are after! The graphics are decent - deliberately simply and cartoon-y and have a certain charm to them - the birds on the reels each have distinct personalities ranging from masquara-ed female chooks to grumpy grey chicks - it's all good fun.
There is a decent win range in the game, below we list the top wins (i.e. x5 on a payline) for each main symbol:
- Rooster: x10,000
- Grey Chicken: x750
- Brown Chicken: x750
- Blue Chicken: x400
- Yellow Chicken: x250
- Golden Chicken: x250
The Bonus Game
Get 3, 4 or 5 'Get Clucky' symbols in any position on the reels and you'll triggered the Eggspanding Bonus Wins feature. This consists of getting 10 free spins in which you can get big 'Get Clucky' scatter wins and win additional free spins within the bonus. The standard symbols on the reels payouts remain the same during the bonus round.
Get Clucky is a simple game with a single free spins bonus round, but we like the music, sound and the volatility of the game and the fact you can win up to x10,000. We enjoyed playing it, we're just not 100% sure on longevity at this stage - is a single bonus round enough to keep you sustained over a long period these days? Probably if the base-game play is good enough - we guess Get Clucky has a shout.
