Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches is from IGT, and it’s another installment in their iconic Wheel of Fortune series of games. This medium variance slot is built around a 5-reel, 30-payline format, and it can be played from between 0.75 and 150 credits per spin. Bonuses and features include a Wheel of Fortune bonus, with 5 potential jackpot prizes.
In the online gambling world, IGT and the Wheel of Fortune as essentially synonymous - and the software provider has released a huge number of games under the iconic TV brand, many of which have become major successes online.
In this Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches slot review we’re going to be taking a look at what the slot has to offer - and we’ll cover everything, from the graphics and theme, to the payouts, symbols and volatility. We’ll also be taking a look at the game’s bonuses and features - so let’s kick things off with a look at the slot’s graphics and theme.
Format and Betting Options
In terms of how Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches is built, you’ll see that it’s structured around a 5-reel, 4-row format. There’s a total of 30 fixed paylines, fixed meaning you’re unable to adjust the number of active lines.
Unfortunately, the minimum bet for Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches is pretty high, coming in at 0.75 credits - so it’s a slot that may not appeal to low-rollers as much. However, high-rollers will be pleased to learn that it’s playable to as much as 150 credits per spin - an amount that should satisfy even the most risky-staking of players.
Graphics and Theme
In case you hadn’t picked up on the theme so far, Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches is themed around the iconic American game show which first premiered in 1975 - Wheel of Fortune. It’s one of the most successful TV game shows ever released, where contestants must complete word puzzles - similar to those found in the game called hangman - in order to win cash prizes and claim a spin on a giant Wheel of Fortune, which awards prizes - and even million-dollar jackpots!
For some time, IGT has managed to acquire a license from NBS to build video slots around the Wheel of Fortune game show theme. There are now a number of games featuring the theme, many of which can be found within land-based casinos in the US and a number of online casinos.
Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches follows the theme, naturally, and it’s bright, vibrant and fast-paced - so there’s lots to get excited about, and from the moment you first load up the slot you’ll notice that the graphics and animations are designed to encapture you from the moment you begin playing!
Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches’ RTP and Volatility
This medium variance game offers a maximum win of just 1,000X your stake - so it’s fair to say there’s not a huge amount of win-potential, hence the medium variance nature of the slot.
Thankfully, unlike some of IGT’s other online releases, the RTP is above their normal average - and you’ll find that Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches has a fixed return to players of 96.15%. This is decent, and since many of IGT’s games carry an RTP of 94%, it’s refreshing to see them pushing out a game with a bit more potential play-time than normal.
Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches offers a fantastic selection of three bonuses and features to look forward to, and below, we’ll be taking a look at all of these in depth - and what you can expect when triggering them for yourself.
Ca$hLink Deluxe Feature
The first bonus round within Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches is the Ca$hLink Deluxe Feature, and this is triggered by landing the Treasure Chest website on reel five; however, in order to trigger, there cannot be any Wheel of Fortune scatter symbols on the first reel.
Once it’s triggered, all of the coin scatter symbols that are displayed in view on the screen then have a cash value attached to them. These are then added together to give you a total prize. It’s also possible to reveal a coin that states one of the game’s jackpots - which includes a Mini, a Minor, a Major, a Mega and a Grand Jackpot.
Unfortunately, these jackpots aren’t worth a huge amount of money, with the Grand paying just 150X your stake - but on the flip-side, the lower pays of these jackpots means it is possible to actually win them, other than the major progressive jackpots found in slots like Mega Moolah or Hall of Gods.
Wheel Bonus Feature
Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches’ main bonus round is the Wheel of Bonus feature, and this is triggered by landing the Wheel of Fortune Coin scatter symbol on the first reel, and the Treasure Chest scatter on reel 5. When it activates, first of all, the Ca$hLink Feature is activated - awarding coin value wins - and you’ll then get a spin on the giant wheel.
If you manage to land the pointer of the wheel on 5X, 10X or 20X, you’ll get the value of the Ca$hLink, which is subsequently boosted by that specific amount. It’s also possible for you to land more than one pointer on a single spin, significantly increasing the win-potential of the game. It’s also possible to land the wheel on the Jackpot segment of the wheel - and here, the jackpot can be worth 1,000X your stake - the game’s maximum win - so there is some win-potential to be found within this bonus round.
Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches also contains a free-spins bonus round, and this is triggered by landing the free-spins scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. You will then be awarded with 10 free spins, and it’s quite common to re-trigger the feature, something that’s achieved by landing three of the scatter symbols once again.
It’s possible to land a total of 200 free spins, so the bonus can play-out for quite some time - and you can also trigger both of the game’s other features from within the free spins, supposedly with a higher frequency rate than within the base-game.
Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches Review
Like most of the game’s that make up IGT’s Wheel of Fortune portfolio, Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches offers up some great graphics, bright and vibrant animations, and solid musical effects. However, the maximum win of just 1,000X is far too low in our opinion - and it’s unlikely to attract many players into actually playing the slot for themselves.
The minimum bet amount is slightly too high, we feel, for the vast majority of players low-rolling. So, it’s likely to turn off a significant number of those looking to enjoy playing video slots on a lower budget.
It’s not the worst game in the world - and thanks to the medium variance nature of Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches, the bonuses and features do trigger quite frequently. So, it can be good for those wanting constant action… but other than that, we don’t feel as though the slot offers too much in the way of potential, win-wise, though the gameplay is fun enough to keep you entertained for a while.

Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches FAQs
What’s the maximum win in Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches?
Unfortunately, IGT - like found within many of their video slots - chose to make Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches quite medium variance. Because of this, the most you can win from a single spin is a rather disappointing 1,000X your bet - and that’s a much lower amount than we’re seeing in most video slots today. Still, the lower maximum win does mean that the chance of hitting one of the jackpots on offer is increased.
What’s the RTP of Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches?
Thankfully, the RTP of Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches is pretty decent - and IGT has chosen to make it 96.51%. This is much higher than most of the slots we see pushed out by the US gambling giant, and it does mean that you’re able to get a decent amount of play-time while enjoying the slot.
How many bonuses and features are there in Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches?
Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches offers a total of three different bonuses and features - all with their own unique charm, and all with different levels of win-potential. The free-spins bonus round is probably the easiest to trigger, offering you the chance to win up to 200 free spins in total! There’s also a Wheel of Fortune-type bonus, where you can win up to 1,000X your stake, and finally, you’ve also got a coin value feature where you can win one of the game’s other, lower-value jackpots.
