Candyfall Slot Review

Sweets aren’t an unusual topic for a video slot. Maybe it’s an attempt to appeal to those of us with a sweet tooth. Blueprint have done something different here. This is a 6x6 game, but we can’t exactly describe it as having reels or paylines. Instead it appears to be inspired by the classic arcade game of Tetris, with various blocks that you have to remove. Tasting Sweetness

You may have seen slots full of sweets before, and they tend to have certain similarities in the graphics. There are bright colours and fluffy clouds. Pinks and purples tend to show up a lot. Hills and trees are replaced by candyfloss and lollipops. That’s the sort of thing we see in the Candyfall slot, where the natural landscape spread through the background is actually made of sweets.

Tetris

Most of us are probably familiar with the 1980s video game known Tetris. It’s a true classic, having sold millions upon millions of copies and with a distinctive look that’s easily recognisable even if you’ve never played for yourself. The aim is to rotate various shapes and combination of blocks to create a complete line across the screen, at which point the blocks disappear. 

Where normally you’d have symbols in positions on the reels, the base game of the Candyfall slot has Tetris blocks. You’re not exactly using Tetris mechanisms to play, but the resemblance is clear, even if the blocks do look a little like sweets.

The RTP of Candyfall is 95%, though it’s possible that some casinos may choose to alter it. The variance is low.

How to Play Candyfall

Here’s what you need to put in your pick and mix.

1. This game works slightly differently to other slots, so it may take a moment to orientate yourself. Still, an instruction opens as soon as you load: “select stake and play”. Do what it says.
2. If you’re wondering how to decide a bet, it should be in line with your overall budget, accounting for how much you can safely afford to risk and whether risk is something you enjoy in the first place.
3. You’ll see the bet button over on the bottom left, where you’ll also see a menu button. This is where you’ll go for more details on gameplay, payouts, bonuses and the like.
4. There are two boxes where the reels would normally be. The slightly smaller one on the left is for incoming sweets; the larger one is where you’ll find your main set of blocks. Click one of the three different incoming sweets to disappear all matching main blocks.
5. Alternatively, hit reveal all to skip straight to the end of the round and reveal the final result.
6. It may be unusual, but you still need to gamble responsibly like you would in an ordinary slot. Always stick to your limits.

How to Win at Candyfall

Playing Candyfall isn’t like playing other slots, and winning at Candyfall isn’t the same either. You don’t need to line up matching symbols across a payline. Instead, they need to match between the incoming sweets window and the main window. The main window has a 6x6 layout.

Click on the incoming sweets to disappear every matching block. Each colour and shape has its own value, but there’s no wild symbol or scatter symbol as you may have in a more regular game (though there is a bonus symbol). Having six different colours and eight different shapes available means there are 48 ways to win.

Top Wins

• Winning symbols may not look quite like they do in other slots, but you can still find their values in the paytable.
• You’ll also see prize values above each column. If they drop down to the bottom of the grid when other blocks are removed, there’s a win multiplier prize worth between 0.5x and 25x.
• The max win in a single round of the Candyfall slot is x251.
• Another way to increase your total win is to find the bonus symbol and enter the Candyfall bonus features.

Candyfall Bonuses

Candyfall has just one bonus game. There’s no free spins bonus or extra multipliers. Instead it’s a “pick bonus”, meaning you have to choose between a range of options to decide your prize. Pick Bonus

First you need the bonus symbol to reach the bottom of the screen. It’s not a scatter symbol like in many games. It starts at the top, but every time you clear the blocks beneath it, it’ll drop a little further. When it makes it right to the bottom, the pick game opens. There are three little candies, but you can only pick one of them. Once you’ve made the choice, the value of your prize will be revealed.

Candyfall Review - Summary 

In some ways, Candyfall is highly original thanks to its Tetris-like design and unique base game mechanics. In other ways, with its sweet-themed graphics, low payout potential and relatively simple bonus round, it doesn’t seem that remarkable. Candyfall could be described as an oddity in the slots world.
